Connecting to Support the Gifted

The Gifted Children’s Association of BC aims to extend support in navigating the unique developmental journey of gifted children through advocacy, education and collaboration. Our vision is a society that recognizes, values and responds to the diversity of giftedness.

Welcome!

Giftedness is a special need. It requires support. It requires peers to make gifted children feel that they belong and are not different than everyone else. Yet, knowledge and understanding of what giftedness is, how diversely it can express itself, and how it needs to be supported … is scarce and hard to find.

As we extend our reach in educating the public and connecting our community, we invite you to explore our current website to learn more about the Gifted Children’s Association of British Columbia (GCABC).

Members of the Gifted Children’s Association of BC receive a regular newsletter, access to the GCABC Member’s Corner, and reduced rates at all GCABC events. Your fees are put to work towards spreading awareness about giftedness across BC. Become a member today!

Education

The GCABC is a not-for-profit working hard to support families in BC with gifted children. We educate the public through our website, social media and events with giftedness experts.

Communication and Resources

The GCABC supports our community with articles about practical support and services, a quarterly newsletter (available to members), and and resources like the GCABC Directory of Professionals.

Advocacy

The GCABC is lobbying the government and school districts by providing feedback about the unmet educational needs of gifted children. Read more about what advocacy work the GCABC does.

Policy

The GCABC Policy Committee provides internal guidelines for the GCABC board and committees, making sure that we follow not-for-profit rules and laws in BC and Canada. We are currently seeking experienced volunteers for the GCABC Policy Committee.
