GCABC offers its deepest sympathies and condolences to the families and friends of the 215 victims confirmed at the former Kamloops Indian Residential School on Thursday, May 27, 2021. As well, we offer our condolences to all Indigenous people impacted by this news. The dark corners of Canada’s history are a profound reminder of how we once failed as a society that respects differences. No child or family should ever go through a trauma like that. The present we live in today sows the seeds of the future tomorrow. As a community, we need to work towards creating a tomorrow that accepts differences and values individuality.
